The password of each subscriber is stored securely in the site's database. The password is encrypted with an irreversible algorithm before being stored. Password matching at login time is done by comparing the encrypted password stored in the database, against the password entered by the user after being encrypted with the same algorithm.

Even if a hacker or a person inside the organization of this site gets access to the users database, the password can not be obtained by decryption because the encryption algorithm is irreversible.
